Meet our Run2PB Junior Development Support Program Recipients, Cameron & Kiara

We were absolutely blown away by the response from over 40 young, aspiring runners, who applied for the Run2PB Junior Development Support Program that we launched back in November of 2020.

The Run2PB Junior Development Support Program was born out of a desire from all Run2PB coaches who wanted to give back to the sport and help junior runners across all of Australia. This collective of coaches includes Olympians, National & State Representatives, from 1500m through to Ultra Marathoners.

They have all been on the journey as young aspiring runners and understand that to get the very best out of your running you need a strong support system. We, along with our kind partners, are very excited to play a part in building that support system.

We are delighted to announce the following 2021 Recipients:

Cameron Donald

Cameron is aged 17 and is based in Lara, Victoria.

He is a member of the Lara Runners Club.

Cameron has represented his school at GISSA in 2019 and 2020, competing in the 1500m race in 2019 and 4km in 2020. In 2020, despite the coronavirus restrictions and lack of racing opportunities, he continued to train and work on building his base. He did get a chance to compete virtually in 2020, participating in the Great Australian Cross Country Challenge (GACCC), coming 3rd for the Australian Year 10's in the Finals. Cameron has also become a regular at parkruns and previously competed at events such as Run4Geelong and River Run.

Cameron's current P.Bs include a 1500m - 5:47, 5km - 19:30, 10km - 40:00

"My goal would be to compete in more running events and continue to represent my school in running and GISSA. "
