Meet Our Coaches


Kate
Avery
Kate has earned a GB vest 19 times across indoor, outdoor, cross country and, most recently, mountain running. She has 14 European medals and 2 World team medals, a 4th place finish in the 10,000m at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and is currently the only British woman to have ever won the NCAA cross-country title. These experiences have taught Kate the value of a strong coach-athlete relationship - one that is built upon communication and a shared drive towards the goals of the individual.


Andy
Buchanan
Andy Buchanan is one of Australia's leading distance runners, representing Australia at the 2022 Commonwealth Games Marathon, finishing 7th. He has a marathon P.B of 2:12:23. On the track he has personal bests of 7:55 for 3km, 13:42 for 5km, 28:26 for 10km. Andy Buchanan has coached a number of athletes to P.Bs.


Madeline
Heiner
Madeline won the 2016 Olympic 3000m steeplechase trial, gaining selection as well in the 5000m. In Rio Olympics Madeline progressed to the final for both the 3000m steeplechase and 5000m, finishing 7th and 10th respectively and clocking personal bests in both races. She represented Australia at the 2017 London World Championships in the 5000m and 10,000m, and again at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games


Josh
Harris
Josh is a 3 x Australian Representative , most recently at the 2017 World Championships, where he qualified with a 2:17 Marathon. Inspired by the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Josh has been king of the track and roads of Tasmania, Australia for the past 20 years.
Josh has a degree in exercise science and loves helping runners of all abilities.



James
Hansen
James’ running career had a familiar beginning – as a participant in Little Athletics, his mother wisely recognising that sport was an important developmental tool for children, and running was her first choice for her son. James showed immediate talent, winning numerous races early in his career.


Karinna
Fyfe
Karinna understands the challenges of juggling study and work commitments and training – having completed a medical degree, PhD and entered full time work as a junior doctor all whilst also training and competing at a high level.
Karinna has a marathon P.B of 2:48 and 16:29 for 5km showcasing her amazing range across all distances from road to track.


Isaac
Hockey
Isaac began running as a youngster through school cross country and Little Athletics in Geelong. At age 14, Isaac could no longer lay a tackle at the local football ground and turned his focus to training for track and cross country. His junior athletic career culminated in selection to represent Australia at the World U20 Championships in the 1500m.


Guy
Walters
Guy has been coached and training partner of Scott Westcott (Australian Olympian - Marathon Representative) since the age of 15 and has learnt valuable lessons that has guided his running and his own personal coaching philosophy
As a senior athlete, Guy has an impressive range of P.Bs across 800m through to the half marathon, including
1:53 (800m), 3:46 (1500m), 8:20 (3km), 14:14 (5km), 29:50 (10,000m), 30:04 (10km road), 1:06:10 (Half).


John
Cox
John loves to run, race and train athletes across a range of distances. He's completed 100+ parkruns, 5Ks, 10Ks, Half Marathons, Marathons and even a few Ultra Marathons.
Coach Cox's has been helping, supporting and encouraging athletesat all levels from running their first Sub 30 5K through to chasing a Sub 3 marathon.



Chris
O'Neill
Chris came into the sport in his early 20's during his rehab from a back injury picked up playing Irish Sports. Initially running just to regain a level of fitness to allow a return to his preferred sport, he soon become interested in a one off goal to complete a marathon. Chris has since gone onto run 50+ marathons, including completing the famous Comrades Marathon on 5 occasions.


Dave
Paroissien
Dave has trained and raced XC, track and road for over 20 years. Starting with a focus on the shorter distances, he moved out to running the half and full marathon and has since run marathon’s across the world, including Chicago, Rotterdam, Gold Coast, Canberra and multiple Melbourne marathons
